Nick Allen
Nick Allen trained at Leicester School of Architecture and founded Metz in 1996. Nick's role within the company encompasses design leadership and strategic thinking to enable clients to achieve their objectives.
Nick completed part of his Architectural training at Rensellair Polytechnic Institute in New York, where he gained a strong appreciation of the pioneers of 20th Century architecture. “Metz have a long standing interest in architecture which, whilst founded in an appreciation of architectural history and context, has its roots in Modernism and our designs remain firmly in the present”
Nick was appointed an RIBA Registered Client Design Advisor in 2009 and an RIBA Registered Client Design Advisor for Education Projects in 2010.
Nick has spearheaded the company's interest in new technologies, BIM (Building Information Modeling) and the use of Structured Data as a construction industry resource, leading the development of MetzBIM as a service complimentary to the practice's architectural work.

Matt Harding
Matt Harding qualified in 1998 following a course of study at what is now the University of Lincoln School of Architecture. The school taught a modern, progressive, and creatively based course which enabled Matt to develop his interest in Modernism and the architecture of the Modern Movement. Matt achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Architecture, a Bachelor of Architecture Post Graduate Degree and finally registered in 2000.
Since qualification, he has worked in private practice on a wide range of project types; often involved in the early stages of projects he enjoys the initial work in developing client briefs and sketch schemes. Matt has overseen many projects from concept stage through to completion on site and enjoys the task of carrying through initial ideas developed with client teams, through to completed buildings with rigour and commitment.
Matt has been working with Nick Allen at Metz for more than 10 years and was recently appointed as a Director of the company. He has been instrumental in delivering the practice toward implementation of REM (Rapid Energy Modelling) and developing MetzREM as a service complimentary to the practice's architectural output.
Matt is an active member of the Leicestershire and Rutland Society of Architects and Chairman of the Property and Estates Committee for the Freemen of the City of Leicester.
