BIM during construction stages
In the design stage, BIM is a concept where all Consultants collaborate in the same virtual environment (the 3D model) to develop the quality of the design and production information and minimize risk and construction problems when the buildings are on site. BIM can be used to structure and monitor environmental performance and compliance with industry standards.
During the tendering stage of a project, the main contractor and sub-contractors can interrogate the model to draw off quantities for pricing and make comparisons for specification changes.
Post contract the BIM can provide comprehensive maintenance and management information to the end user.
Structured Data. The BIM is a rich source of data available to a myriad of associated software packages beyond the core construction team, making life easier and more cost effective across all kinds of business environments and supply chains.
